Alex is a 40-years-plus veteran who started her career in IT when Cobol was the main programming language!
She travelled the world installing banking software packages in the 1980s and then – because she wanted a seat at the table framing organisational strategy – did an MBA in 1988 and made the shift to focus on strategy execution through projects. With her late husband Jed Simms, Alex pioneered the focus on Value enabled by outcomes thinking.
𝗜 𝗔𝗠 𝗢𝗡 𝗔 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡… To show organizations they can profoundly improve strategy execution and project results by learning three simple concepts:
OUTCOMES THINKING – defines what the future looks like when it is working just right.
PATH DEPENDENCY – highlights KEY decisions which open up or close down alternative futures. It’s far more important for most projects than Critical Path for success; it shows the best sequence to execute to build momentum and maximize early gains.
REVERSE ENGINEERED PLANNING – defines ALL of the activities needed to deliver outcomes, by planning backwards from the future.
